Support our Dupes

You see them everywhere. In store windows, on signs and especially the plastic ribbons stuck on cars proclaiming "support our troops." Looking past the popularly programmed mindset, what does "support our troops" really mean? Do those who proclaim their support actually give any? Does the government support "our" troops? Aren’t the troops and those who sport support stickers really dupes who truly need our support?

Duped troops

What about those troops? Many, seeking a leg up from some disadvantaged place in society and others genuinely seeking to serve their country, were first duped at the recruiter’s office. Promises of lifetime healthcare, educational benefits, special training and placement in preferred areas of service, enticed many to sign up for the military. The recruiter’s non-revocable, less-than-full-disclosure contract begins to fall short at first muster. The duping pays dividends to the dupers upon full deployment in a hostile foreign land when the duped fight with no mission and no exit strategy.

We were duped into believing that Arab terrorists were responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks when the evidence indicates rogue elements of the domestic government helped to achieve their airborne objectives.

Dupers, from the president on down, duped the world into supporting a pre-emptive war to seek out and destroy Saddam’s "weapons of mass destruction" that have never been found.

A policy of "friendly harm" has justified our troops being exposed to depleted uranium, forced vaccinations and decades of clandestine testing of chemical and biological agents—and then we send our troops into harms way without so much as adequate body armor?

Mandatory, multiple tours of duty; troops recalled or prevented from retirement and a National Guard that is now mostly out of the nation—is this how we honor enlistment contracts and "support our troops?"

Government casualty counts only include those who died on the battlefield. If enough pieces of a man can be scraped up, flown to Germany and still have a pulse before expiring, as is increasingly common with the aid of modern battlefield trauma care, they are not included in the casualty count.

After healing the open wounds, more than a few of our troops have found themselves kicked out of medical facilities, discharged with no benefits, support, transportation home or literally in some cases, no legs to stand on. Some are even billed for their medical treatment, made necessary by their "service to our country."

Support our troops? Government doesn’t.

Support what?

There are a few Americans who really do support the troops. They may take care of their families while they are deployed, or look after a veteran in need, or participate in some support group. But most give lip service, at best. What do many Americans really mean by "support our troops?"

Unfortunately, these popular stickers are often displayed for selfish interests. Unconsciously, the real meaning may be: More cheap oil for me; more security for me—and they have to do to show support is slap a ribbon on their car? At times, human nature is less than ideal and these are those times. I suspect that most of the people sporting support stickers and signs have never actually done anything to support a member of the military or their family.

Whose troops?

It’s not just the troops who have been duped. Well meaning believers in our present society believe the troops are fighting to protect us. But that’s not what an objective analysis will reveal. The troops are not fighting for us. They are not even fighting to bring "us" oil. We don’t get any oil out of the deal, the oil companies do. And last I checked, oil companies are not benevolent public service agencies. They profit at our expense—including the personal costs paid by "our troops."

They are not even "our" troops. They could be more accurately described as U. S. corporate mercenaries—the fighting men and women of Corp-gov. They fight for oil company oil; they are expendable bodies for the military-industrial complex’s weapons inventory reduction and resupply program; they provide reconstruction opportunities for Halliburton et. al.

Today’s dupe

We were led to believe, before the onset of the current Iraq occupation/coup, that Saddam had WMDs and would use them if we didn’t stop him. Rarely mentioned, was the fact that he was planning on selling Iraqi oil for Euros. This figurative thrust would have pierced the armor of the global oil cartel and begun bleeding out the petro-dollar. The cartel cannot allow their petro-dollar scheme to fail, so Saddam must go—at any cost—and with any excuse the generally duped population will accept.

Deja Vu? Now Iran is planning on selling its oil for Euros, so the building-nuclear-weapons-and-threatening-to-use-them card is being played. Interestingly, North Korea, India, Pakistan and Israel are all members of the have-built-nuclear-weapons-and-threatened-to-use-them club, but, since they are not selling oil for Euros, they are not on the imminent invasion schedule.

Again, what, exactly, are "our" troops fighting for?

We have been duped

A broad spectrum of society has been duped. Creating and maintaining dupes is a complex, fully integrated and well-funded psychoscience. Once subjects have become dupes, the duped state is difficult to reverse—but it can be done.

The human mind is quite malleable. In most cases parents begin forming our thoughts and core beliefs. The public education process further cements the conceptual foundations of society’s members.

Television is the number one tool of the dupers to mold our perception of reality. Popular music, magazines, radio, newspapers, the Internet, books and other information/indoctrination systems are also vital components of our duping. Whoever operates and controls these information streams lays the program in the public mind.

The science of propagating thought forms is now a major industry. Million dollar one-shot Superbowl ads have become almost as attractive as the game itself. And the commercial benefits of such programming can be counted out by the $millions.

The science of selling products is only equaled or exceeded by the science of selling war.

Those of us who have found reality to be inverse of the programs we have been fed, often have great difficulty convincing, or even just showing members of the programmed masses the evidence that they have been duped.

Many of the dupes among us simply have their minds glaze over and cannot comprehend new information that challenges their programming. Others react more aggressively to fend off the mental conflict that would occur should the paradigm of their programming develop a crack.

Subconsciously, the dupes among us know that, if one part of the program is shown to be false, other components, in time, will fall apart also. It is much easier to avoid any challenges to the program. You might say, much of our population has been duped into a "dupor."

The grand dupe

Dupery, the act or practice of duping, is rampant, especially in the political arena. Honest, objective analysis of almost any public subject will reveal a truth quite opposite to the claims of those in government, the media and the corporate sector.

Joseph Gobbles, the man who engineered the rise of Hitler, said a lie told often enough, eventually becomes the truth. Today, we have the mass media echo chamber—lies are told over and over on all frequencies, channels and pages—so the entire bandwidth into our brains is covered—until fiction becomes fact.

Such dupery has created our current societal conditioning: Security is being disarmed, searched and interrogated; freedom is more laws—and Arabs want to kill us all because they hate our freedom.

"Will that be paper or plastic; debit or credit?" The dollar, a coin of silver, is no longer spendable money.

Voting is the act of touching the screen, selecting from the available options of approved candidates, letting Diebold count and the media report the results.

Taxes are payments you "owe" according to a nine-million word tax code, that fails to define you as a taxpayer, converts and perverts the definition of "income" without any lawfully-ratified authority.

Courts of law are where we go to be ruled by men who disregard the rules and the rule of law.

The medical industry kills more people from malpractice than all the incompetent drivers on American roads, yet many have come to "believe" in their "cures."

If you have read this far into The Idaho Observer, without having your brain shut down from a media-installed, paradigm-protection program, you can probably list many more examples of modern dupery.

Crack in the paradigm

Those of us who have begun the unduping process on our own, usually had a pivotal event turn us around. Our perfect little world developed a crack—a crack in the paradigm. From that crack we were afforded a view, which created more cracks, until the entire paradigm shattered and fell away.

It may have been an attack on job, home or family. The medical, legal or administrative professions may have assaulted something or someone we hold dear. A personal or natural disaster may have uncontrovertibly shown that promises of government support or security were illusory. Or the facts proclaimed by our dupers didn’t match up with a clear and present reality.

The mind is like a computer in that it cannot function with contrary programming. Computers either freeze up or melt down; humans are a little more durable. We get cognitive dissonance, which causes the mind to rattle around in neutral until we figure out which "reboot" program is best for bringing our brains back online. As the dupers’ paradigm shatters, a new paradigm, based on our experience of reality, begins to self-install.

Support our dupes

The dupers’ paradigm is beginning to crack in the minds of the duped at an exponential rate. A lie told often enough may become the truth, but one lie requires another lie to cover it. Eventually, nothing but lies are told and the duper’s ruse becomes evident and unbelievable.

When was the last time someone in government told us the truth? The answer is becoming a distant memory. The dupers’ paradigm has major cracks and those who have been duped will need our support.

The dupe recovery kit

Supporting our dupes means helping them to finish cracking the shell of the dupers’ paradigm by providing them with information to facilitate the shift past an idle state of cognitive dissonance into the construction of their own new paradigm. Unfortunately, part of the dupers’ process was to dumb the population down to a state of minimal literacy. Newspapers such as this one have little effect on the well duped. Extracting and assimilating information by actually reading is an uncommon practice among the duped.

They have been blasted with information for decades. The TV screen in nearly every home penetrates the consciousness by captivating the audio and visual senses and lulling the mind into a receptive beta state.

The video media has much greater potential to reach out and touch the mind of the dupes. Telling them new facts or trying to get them to read is not nearly as effective as sitting them down with a video and letting them see for themselves. It gives them a sense of self-discovery and uses the same method in which most of their duped programming was received.

We can each start developing "dupe recovery kits": Collections of videos covering the spectrum of the duper’s plan to steal the nation, rule the planet, thin out the herd and make slavery feel like freedom. Some videos will be more effective than others, or more or less appropriate to different audiences. For example, I have noticed that 911 In Plane Site has a very positive effect and a high turnaround rate in the opinions of the duped with its just-the-facts style, presented as a question for all to see. Alex Jones videos, while jammed full of good information, may be too intense for the neophyte dupe. He covers a wide spectrum of subjects well, but his ranting, staccato style is not necessarily the best entry-level dupe recovery tool; save them for later recovery sessions.

Missing Presumed Dead (see below) is an excellent component of any dupe recovery kit. Develop a dupe recovery kit that covers a spectrum of subjects. Know your tools and be sensitive to your audience. It’s not easy for the comfortably numb to discover that most of their world has been upside down and inside out. The goal is to crack the dupers’ paradigm and help people rebuild their own reality with a minimum of pain, at a pace they can handle.

Support our dupes and help them break on through to the other side!

Zio-Fascism Awareness Week

From October 22 to 28th, David Horowitz and his right-wing fascist cohorts -- misogynist Ann Coulter, Neocon Godfather Michael Ledeen, Fetalphobe ex-Senator Rick Santorum, and an assortment of other ghouls and goblins, will be coming to a university near you. They bring visions of evil-doers with bombs strapped around their waist, ready to blow up you and your loved ones in an attempt to scare you into giving up your treats (freedoms) for tricks (boggiemen) during Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.

Examine your candy closely...who knows what you'll find...Osama bin Laden...It is just a matter of time.

According to Horowitz's Terrorism Awareness Project website, which is promoting the Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week:

"The purpose of this protest is as simple as it is crucial: to confront the two Big Lies of the political left: that George Bush created the war on terror and that Global Warming is a greater danger to Americans than the terrorist threat. Nothing could be more politically incorrect than to point this out. But nothing could be more important for American students to hear. In the face of the greatest danger Americans have ever confronted, the academic left has mobilized to create sympathy for the enemy and to fight anyone who rallies Americans to defend themselves. According to the academic left, anyone who links Islamic radicalism to the war on terror is an "Islamophobe." According to the academic left, the Islamo-fascists hate us not because we are tolerant and free, but because we are "oppressors."

Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week is a national effort to oppose these lies and to rally American students to defend their country."

Oh, my, they hate us because we are "tolerant and free," not because we are blowing up their children and contaminating their land with radioactive depleted uranium. How silly of us.

But of course what is really going on is the attempt to mould our minds to support a rabid right-wing agenda through the process of mythmaking.

Horowitz and the Power of Myths

So, who is David Horowitz and what is his gig? This “ex-Marxist” is now a right-wing ideologue/deceiver who is a key promoter of grand myths in support of the Neocon agenda. As most of you know, the Neocons hold key positions in the Bush Administration and are the crafters of today’s boogieman -- the “Islamofascist” as well as the phony “War on Terror” -- two phantoms to be used as tools for furtherance of their goals of dividing and dismantling the Middle East by war and deception.

One of Horowitz's fellow mythmakers is Neocon Philip Zelikow, the ex-executive director of the 9/11 Commission who helped create one of the grandest public myths of all -- that 19 hijackers fooled the entire military and intelligence community and carried out the crimes of 9/11. Zelikow was a student of mythmaking and while at Harvard Zelikow worked with Ernest May and Richard Neustadt on the use, and misuse, of history in policymaking. They observed, as Zelikow noted in his own words, that "contemporary" history is "defined functionally by those critical people and events that go into forming the public's presumptions about its immediate past."

Presciently, Zelikow speculated in an 1998 article he co-authored entitled "Catastrophic Terrorism" that if the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Towers had succeeded,

"such an act of catastrophic terrorism would be a watershed event in American history. It could involve loss of life and property unprecedented in peacetime and undermine America’s fundamental sense of security, as did the Soviet atomic bomb test in 1949. Like Pearl Harbor, the event would divide our past and future into a before and after. The United States might respond with draconian measures scaling back civil liberties, allowing wider surveillance of citizens, detention of suspects and use of deadly force. More violence could follow, either future terrorist attacks or U.S. counterattacks. Belatedly, Americans would judge their leaders negligent for not addressing terrorism more urgently."

Do these people hold magic powers to foretell the future? Yes, and no. They can tell the future because they know the game plan ahead of time, but they have no magical powers except for the power they hold over American minds through deceit, deception and evil.

Are we being NeoConned?

You Bet. The Neocons have written in their policy papers called “Rebuilding America’s Defenses; Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century” www.informationclearinghouse.info/article3249.htm and “A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm” www.antiwar.com/orig/kwiatkowski.php?articleid=9306 of the need for a wider war in the Middle East to create a beneficial geopolitical landscape for Israel. Both papers are widely criticised for advocating for an aggressive foreign policy and advancing right-wing Zionism. In the Rebuilding America’s Defences document they write of the need for a “catastrophic and catalyzing event—like a new Pearl Harbor” to further this goal.

Today, there is plenty of evidence to prove that we have been lied to about 9/11 and the real reasons for the war. Millions of Americans are now calling for a truly independent investigation of 9/11 because of the many discrepencies and inconsistancies in the official story. Today the grand myth is that “islamo-fascisism” is the greatest threat to democracy and our “way of life”. This fabrication is being promoted by the corporate media and a few right-wing ideologues. However, Horowitz is concerned that you have not sufficently bought this lie which is why he is on his campus crusade.

Don’t fall for the lies. Don’t buy the grand con of the neocons.

Naomi Klein's "Shock Doctrine" and the policy of Disaster Capitalism

"Shock and Awe" is what the media and pentagon called the bombardment of Baghdad by U.S. forces at the start of the 2003 Persian Gulf War. We remember the horrible visuals well, just as we remember, in graphic detail, our own shock and awe event on September 11, 2001, when we were treated to the first in a series of psychological trauma for the new the "War on Terror" PR campaign. All of these horrible events were designed to turn us, and Iraqis, into pliable infants, willing to let our government do whatever they want in order to "protect us."

Many of us picked up early on how this shock therapy was being used to remake society to the benefit of the planners of these events, however, we just didn't know the root philosophy or the faces behind the doctrine. Now Naomi Klein helps us fill in the holes to our understanding with her new tour de force book, The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism.

Based on years of research and four years of on-the-ground reporting in disaster zones, Klein outlines for us how the "shock doctrine" is used as an instrument of foreign and domestic policy to reengineer the political/economic landscapes of the world. Here is an excerpt from Naomi Klein's website on how it works:

"At the most chaotic juncture in Iraq’s civil war, a new law is unveiled that would allow Shell and BP to claim the country’s vast oil reserves…. Immediately following September 11, the Bush Administration quietly out-sources the running of the “War on Terror” to Halliburton and Blackwater…. After a tsunami wipes out the coasts of Southeast Asia, the pristine beaches are auctioned off to tourist resorts.... New Orleans’s residents, scattered from Hurricane Katrina, discover that their public housing, hospitals and schools will never be reopened…. These events are examples of “the shock doctrine”: using the public’s disorientation following massive collective shocks – wars, terrorist attacks, or natural disasters -- to achieve control by imposing economic shock therapy. Sometimes, when the first two shocks don’t succeed in wiping out resistance, a third shock is employed: the electrode in the prison cell or the Taser gun on the streets."

The book traces the Shock Doctrine's origins back fifty years, to the University of Chicago under Milton Friedman, which produced many of the leading neo-conservative and neo-liberal thinkers whose influence is still profound in Washington today. New, surprising connections are drawn between economic policy, “shock and awe” warfare and covert CIA-funded experiments in electroshock and sensory deprivation in the 1950s, research that helped write the torture manuals used today in Guantanamo Bay."

Klein also writes in October's Harpers Magazine, "Disaster Capitalism" on how this reengineering by the elite is radically remaking the United States government by destroying the "New Deal" programs put in place by Franklin D. Roosevelt, in favor of pay-as-you-go privatized services by corporations. In effect, she outlines, that those that can afford good schools, health care, policing and fire department services will get them; and those that can't will have to try and survive with the decaying public-sector programs and infrastructure. She writes that what is being planned is the setting up of two parallel forms of government—one for the rich and one for poor.

Though I think Naomi has done a phenomenal work of research here, there is just one criticism I have regarding her conclusions as to who or what are behind these "shock" events. She lays out in Harpers that she doesn't believe these disasters are the work of conspiracies, with, perhaps, the exception of Iraq:

"The disaster-capitalism complex does not deliberately scheme to create the cataclysms on which it feeds (though Iraq may be a notable exception), but there is plenty of evidence that its component industries work very hard indeed to make sure that current disastrous trends continue unchallenged."

Naomi, I hope you will examine September 11, 2001 as much as you have examined this "shock doctrine". If you do, you will note that many of these disasters are man-made -- from the 9/11 event itself, to the Reichstag Fire, to the Gulf of Tonkin and Pearl Harbor. These events where either planned and carried out or instigated by people who wanted war. With such a level of understanding it will bring a whole new level of Machiavellian insight to your research.

In hindsight, the "shock doctrine" shouldn't surprise us more jaded individuals; the fact that the people that are behind this doctrine and are still getting away with it is the more shocking still.

9/11 Truth Protesters Disrupt Fox News Programing

Oh, it doesn't get any better than this!

Media activist and 9/11 truther Alex Jones was arrested after he and and a large group of citizens showed up on Fox News' doorstep and disrupted Geraldo Rivera and his "cookie cooking" news analysis with signs and chants that "9/11 was an inside job!"

Presstitute Geraldo Rivera, ruffled and indignant, went into macho mode with "I wish I could..." shaking his fist in the air, implying that he would love to just whack one of the protesters. He also starts calling them everything under the book from "anarchists," "misfits," "nutjobs," "rabble," and the "least attractive group of demonstrators I have ever seen." Ouch! Now that really hurts! (I guess we can't compete with Kyla and the Fox News staff with their little white mini skirts and hooter tops).

Here Geraldo calls the demonstrators everything except what they really are -- citizens who want to get their censored message out.

He even says in one clip that the demonstrators are an "activists radical communist group. I don't know who they are." Geraldo, if you call yourself a real journalist wouldn't it be incumbent for you to bring the microphone out in the crowd and ask them who they are?

Later, after the police come to arrest Alex, Geraldo ask Hooters' waitress Kyla Ebbert (who was escorted off of a Southwest plane for her "provocative" outfit) how she likes New York.

Kyla, "I think I will come back when things calm down in in a few years."

Geraldo "I am not sure of that."

That's right Geraldo, that is the one thing you got right that night. We won't be calm or quiet.







(UPDATE: According to the Philadelphia Inquirer Michael Rivera said that he is has decided to trade in his microphone and run for the Knesset (reported Sept. 16, 2007). He is also quoted as saying that "I would die for Israel."

Asked in the Inquirer:

"And what would he do if elected to the Knesset?

'I would cause a fuss, and every day I would attack someone else,' he said."

And, how would that bring about peace between Israel and Palestine, Geraldo?)

"Noooooooo, Robert Fisk. Don't go down the black hole!!!"

Robert Fisk is getting a lot of flack these days, and it is not coming from those one would expect -- those shrill "ravers" as Fisk likes to describe those people who like to throw chairs and tables around ranting about why nobody takes them seriously when they express their doubts about 9/11. No, this time the flack is coming from those esteemed defenders of the official myth of 9/11 in the so-called "left".

In case you missed it, Fisk wrote a quasi-polemic piece titled: "Robert Fisk: Even I question the 'truth' about 9/11," which generated a backlash from the keepers of the faith like Manuel Garcia Jr. and Andrew Bolt from the "Herald Sun."

Fisk starts his piece tepidly enough, saying how he doesn't think the Bush administration could have pulled off 9/11 because of their incompetence in the Middle East. He writes:

"the Bush administration has screwed up everything – militarily, politically diplomatically – it has tried to do in the Middle East; so how on earth could it successfully bring off the international crimes against humanity in the United States on 11 September 2001?"

... however, Fisk proceeds to lay out a case for the opposite conclusion -- that maybe they are not as incompetent as they seem:

"I am increasingly troubled at the inconsistencies in the official narrative of 9/11. It's not just the obvious non sequiturs: where are the aircraft parts (engines, etc) from the attack on the Pentagon? Why have the officials involved in the United 93 flight (which crashed in Pennsylvania) been muzzled? Why did flight 93's debris spread over miles when it was supposed to have crashed in one piece in a field?"

Here Fisk, though not exactly practicing "doublethink" (the ability to hold on to two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously and accepting both of them) is coming very close to practicing that talent.

But, I don't want to rant or "rave" on Fisk however. I actually admire him for taking a step into the "blackhole" with the rest of us "troofers," as the counter-9/11 conspiracy types like to call us (I am not sure what that implies, but I guess it is their lame attempt at humor). No, this article has to do with the attacks by the "left" on Fisk for doing "crimethink," which is the worst crime one can commit according to the Outer Party in Orwell's 1984. By Fisk thinking out of the box(cutters) and expressing doubts about the official story he is, in effect, committing a horrible, unspeakable act which must be rectified at all costs.

And, who should come to the rescue to save Fisk from his doubting-thomas self but Manuel Garcia Jr. who can barely contain himself in his latest piece posted on CounterPunch.org (ouch!): "You Are Now Entering a Black Hole: 911 Emergency! Calling Robert Fisk!"

("Fisk, grab my hand! don't go there, I can pull you baaaaaak!")

In this article Garcia shares his correspondence between Carmelita McQuillan with the readers of CounterPunch.org. McQuillan seems to be saying that "look, maybe there is something wrong with the official story because even Robert Fisk has his doubts about what happened on 9/11." Garcia counters that "Robert can find all of his answers (to his 9/11 Truth questions) at: wtc7lies.googlepages.com/home

(This may come as miraculous news to all those Truth activists who for so many years were diligently looking for the fount of 9/11 truth. Now you have it. Garcia has found the oracle of truthiness, and it is just one web-link away. Hallelujah! Just make sure the fumes from the oracle don't knock you off your tripod into the abyss of dialectic sophistry.)

Garcia proceeds to enlighten Fisk in his article with his unparalleled logic and supernatural understanding of physics. Here he lays down an explanation for why debris from flight 93 was found over a wide area of Pennsylvania:

"On flight 93 parts spread over miles, not so surprising. When a big jet plows into the ground at full speed, one can expect a large explosive force that can scatter aluminum shrapnel far and wide. Also, when an airplane is overstressed (which may have happened with Flight 93, I don't know) it might begin to break up in flight, and pieces can fall off. I have seen a landing gear door on the freeway, from a small plane, clearly recently dropped (freeway next to an airport)."

Oh really, Garcia? So, if a plane hits at high speed into the ground you are going to have a debris field over many miles in a STRAIGHT LINE instead of radially spread out? Are you living on earth or on some parallel universe where metal, and organic debris, follow some other force of nature?

Also, Garcia's "over-stressed plane" scenario is just unsubstantiated speculation. When in history have we ever seen a plane begin to break up into small debris in mid-flight when it hasn't been hit by a missile? His small plane losing a door on the freeway doesn't cut the empirical-truth mustard either.

But, like so many other defenders of the official story of 9/11, cartoon physics are applied regularly to explain phenomenon that defy logic, and, because people are so desperate for someone to tell them that their government couldn't possibly do such an unspeakable act, they turn off that part of their brain that one would normally use for higher cognitive thinking.

And, Garcia isn't the only one who has taken a swipe at Fisk recently (and, I am sure there will be more of that to come). Andrew Bolt from the Herald Sun wants all such nonsense-talk nipped in the bud as it is upsetting liberals like himself and Tony Blair. He writes: "Are they all mad?":

"Unlike Sheen, Fisk can't be dismissed as just another crank who represents no one.

He is welcome in almost any ABC studio even today, his documentaries are reverentially presented on SBS, his books sell well in modish shops, and even at the end of his bizarre Sydney speech, the audience gave him a long and loving ovation.

This is the kind of madness in the Left that so worries Blair. And if it worries even a leader of that Left, it sure frightens me."

Now this may come as news to many readers: Tony Blair is the leader of the Left?! Wait, let me do some quick doublethinking to fully appreciate Bolt's assertion: Tony Blair's liberal government helped kill a million Iraqis; Tony Blair's liberal government is the Iraqi people's savior. 2 + 2= 5.

Ahhh, yes, that's better.

This is what is being asked of us today; the powers that be are hoping we will voluntarily do doublethink and turn off our capacity to question reality without having to resort to physical torture in Room 101.

But, if enough of us, especially those with Fisk's reputation and creditials begin to dig deep into the morass of 9/11, and, as a consequence excavate the horrible truth and are vocal about it, we will be a unbeatable force to reckon with.

Reclaiming the Truth and Your Freedom

My apologies for not leaving a note before I left for South America (in case any of you were wondering why my blog has seen no postings in the last four weeks). I had decided to drop out from the blogisphere to escape the constant assaults upon my psyche by the powers that be who, like mosquitos, were drawing too much blood while injecting me with their poisonous lies. I had had enough and decided to flee to higher altitudes where they did not swarm. I would highly recommend it.

I spent the last few weeks in some of the most beautiful parts of the world listening to beautiful music, hiking with friends, and getting lost in the Andes. Towards the end of my trip I had the good fortune to meet a man who invited me to a "moon" ceremony held by some local shamans. I didn't know what the ceremony would entail, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to experience something truly different.

The ceremonial house was located in the mountainous heights that surround Cusco in Peru, the navel of the world according to the Incas, and was nothing so much as a shed with various musical instruments and art hung up on the walls. We sat under blankets for the cold and drank ayahuasca, a hallucinogenic brew from the vine Banisteriopsis. Later we turned off the lights and the shamans started singing to Inti, the sun god, and Pachamama, the earth mother. Their chants made the air vibrate and shook my body and soul. I imagined myself as a mountain and felt truly connected to the world.

Many years ago I read a book called "The Cosmic Serpent," by Jeremy Narby, that describes the use of ayahausca by shamans in Amazon. The book mentions how shamans use the brew to see visions, heal, and divine the future. Narby claimed that shamans on this drug can "talk" with plants by reading their genetic "language". He also spoke of how they saw the unity of all living things, from trees and the plants to human beings.

Now, I know that many of you are wondering why I am bringing up this metaphysical stuff, especially since this is a political blog. What do these ideas have to do with anything related to our present day world and experiences?

I can explain...I think.

Somewhere down the line most of us in the west have been indoctrinated to the idea of separateness, which was probably a creation by those Machiavellians on the pulpit and rostrum who have sought to control man and society by creating convenient delusions and divisions that keep us forever focused on distractions -- us against them, good versus evil, white versus black, Islam versus Christianity, Democrats versus Republicans, etc.

Such concepts of separation were probably born out a false religious doctrine that says that mankind is not of the world but are uniquely created in the image and temperament of a bearded, vengeful God who went about smiting other unfavored actors of his creation and sanctioning man to used the environment as his personal toilet. Yes, it makes absolute sense because, by golly, the pope says it's so, and as God's ordained mouthpiece for humanity we had better go along... or else.

And, we are not off the hook in this thinking just because we are not religious; even if we are part of that 17 percent of the population who does not buy the idea of a personal savior, many of us still fall under the spell of the religion of the state, where the doctrine and dogma can be just as ridiculous and pernicious.

Is it real or is it Al Queda?

One of those things that travelers cannot help but notice is that airplanes, like time machines, not only transport one to different locations but to very different realities as well. Coming from the diametrically-opposed worlds of Cusco to LAX airport was like coming from a beautifully magical Federico Fellini film, to a gritty, sad Quentin Tarantino one: corralled off in one corner of the airport, fresh-faced Marine recruits still in their street clothes were getting the lowdown by Marines in dress blue, telling them that their lives are now to be forfeit for the next world crusade against Islam -- but, conveniently, not the whims of state capitalism. I shook my head at the new recruits mouthing the words "don't go" as a disembodied woman's voice admonished passengers to be vigilant of their bags or get them confiscated by TSA personnel.

In this new reality your shoes are now suspect and need to be to examined in case they're wired to blow. My reality was transformed over night to one of bliss and peace to anxiety and fear.

Welcome to Orwell's Oceania.

So, why would the new Marine recruit feel a need to leave the wonderful world of America, with all its materialistic bonbon delights and relative safety to go off and fight in some American-God-forsaken land, in the blazing summer heat, perhaps killing someone he has never met?

Could it be that our recruit has bought and internalized the idea of separateness and specialness taught to him in school, his church, his home? Has the "We're #1" and "God bless America" mantra emblazoned on American cars from sea to shining sea, effectively lobotomizing the critical thinking area in his brain? Could sound bites from Fox News and vinyl stickers do that?

Yes. I should know as many of my family members have voluntarily submitted to having such an operation, as well as dedicating their lives to the perpetuation of the state with its attendant benefits of a healthy, regular paycheck and a shiny new car every couple of years.

But, even though the crusaders for the state mindlessly go on carrying out their duties, there is always the possibility that a chink in the armor will develop and the wearer will get wounded by the spear of truth. This is not an impossibility as I have seen it happen to some ex-Republicans who were catatonic with despair and then energized by anger when they discovered the awful reality of their state gone amuck. There is the possibility that too much is just too much, even for an arch Republican.

Millions today are beginning to question the official story of 9/11 and for good reason; the evidence indicates that it is an inside job (see 911truth.org and cooperativeresearch.ca). If the official story of 9/11 is a lie than that means everything else is too -- including Al Queda, the "War on Terror", as well as the need for permanent war.

Like in Orwell's book "1984" the rulers of state are asking you to buy a falsehood, one that any truly free and brave people would reject immediately if they were truly such. Will we be condemned to forever be trapped by this need to be special and different, even if the reprecussions of such conceit mean that one could swallow the idea that it is okay destroy people by truck bombs, white phosphorus, and the genocidal use of depleted uranium?

Here's my wish for humanity: please wake up and see how the lies that your leaders tell you are justifying acts that go against all moral and ethical boundaries as well as destroying the bonds that connects us to all life on this planet. The shamans in the mountains who take ayahuasca supposedly can see the relationship of all living things. Why can't we? And, if we don't try, we will be forever capable of more heinous acts against life on this planet -- after all, those deformed and bloodied fetuses created by exposure to U.S. bombs filled with depleted uranium are part of you; that is your genetic code that you are allowing the Stangeloving masters to fuck with. You can deny this by saying that you are not responsible for what crazed leadership is doing in your name, but if you continue to fork over tax dollars to them, you are complicit.

Don't be complicit. Let's stop supporting the system that is creating an unlivable world for humanity through the use of fear and division.
